The Legend 36 is an exciting new addition
for 2008 to the Isle of Skye Yachts fleet. With her easy to
handle sail controls, excellent sailing performance and luxurious
accommodation down below she has appeal for all age groups.
On deck the tall, B&R fractional rig has all sail controls fed back to the cockpit. The trademark stainless steel arch protects those in the cockpit from dangling main sheets and droopy booms and a large spray hood keeps the wind off. The sail wardrobe consists of a roller furling genoa, large roach mainsail with lazy jacks and easily stowed flaking system and a storm jib. This sail plan makes for easy tacking and fast downwind sailing without the need for additional off-wind sails. Working away out of sight is the winged keel offering increased lateral resistance for a given draft. On the foredeck, anchoring is made simple with an electric windlass.
The cockpit is spacious with additional
pushpit seats and there is a large cockpit table which folds
away when not in use. The area is uncluttered and family friendly,
with the mainsheet traveller up on the stainless-steel arch
and three Lewmar winches (for the jib sheets, mainsheet, halyards,
and reefing lines) on the cockpit coaming and coach roof.
Access for boarding from the stern is excellent.
