The following is offered solely as information and Skye Yachts Ltd T/A Isle of Skye Yachts do not advise any of these suggestions and will not accept any responsibility for any damage caused to computers by doing so. You are in all cases advised to consult with your regular IT provider before attempting and of the following … Thank You.

No information about my problem ...
If you find that you have a difficulty reading the pages on the site and have scanned this help section without finding the solution to your problem click the email button at the top of the page and tell us about it. We will help in any way possible. Note too that pages might appear correct on our computers but display incorrectly on others ... obviously we need to know about this or we cant fix the problem. Use the following email link and mark the subject line PAGE ERROR. It can then be dealt with quickly. admin@skyeyachts.co.uk

No Space to see frames ...
The site was designed to be viewed at 800 x 600 or better still 1024 x 768 screen resolution. This means that if your screen is set to 640 x 480 most of the pages will be restricted to band 60 percent of the true page width.
To overcome this problem you can (if you use Internet Explorer) hold down the SHIFT key when you select a link and this will open the page in a NEW WINDOW and not within the frames... If you use the Netscape browser then simply RIGHT CLICK the links and choose the VIEW IN A NEW WINDOW option.
The other alternative is to set your screen resolution to 1024 x 768by right clicking the desktop, selecting the PROPERTIES tab, choose SETTINGS and select the screen resolution of your choice.
In Internet Explorer, you can also surf the net in FULL PAGE MODE and to do this press the F11 key at the top of your keyboard. To go back to normal mode simply press F11 again.
Part of the top of the page is 'cut off'
Again this is a screen resolution / frames problem.
To overcome this problem you can highlight some of the text with your mouse ,then DRAG THE SELECTION DOWN towards the bottom of the screen. This causes the page scroll down too, revealing the part that was missing. This trick works with most sites. You could also try HOME and END on the keyboard but remember to click somewhere inside the page you want to scroll up or down.

On modern browsers You can use the ARROW or cursor keys to move up and down pages too.

The text is Tiny or too big
Internet explorer allows the user to set the default text size. It should generally be set to MEDIUM. You can check by going to VIEW and selecting TEXT SIZE.

Old version of site …
We regularly update the site and if you have recently visited the site you may be seeing an OLDER version of the site. This is because all browser software saves pages in a part of the computer called the CACHE and this keeps downloading page time to a minimum (ie you dont need to download the same page or image twice - its simply fetched from the cache). It also means you can look at the pages off-line.
To overcome this problem simply press REFRESH or RELOAD. If that doesnt work on Internet Explorer (IE) you can hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard while clicking REFRESH and this forces the browser to reload a new copy of the page. Finally you can EMPTY the cache. To do this you should go to the TOOLS menu in your browser (IE only) and select INTERNET OPTIONS. Choose DELETE FILES and this should fix most problems. If all the aforementioned fails - it could be that the page contains errors and a good page is being substituted from you computer's cache. If this is the case you should notify us by email and we will then repair the page.

Squashed pictures all over the screen or blank screen
Some surfers may notice that the background of the page is tiled with the same picture over and over again or that a SQUASHED version of an image is where its not supposed to be. You may also find 'bits missing'. It may even be that the page FAILS to load altogether.
To overcome this problem click REFRESH or RELOAD.

A link wont work ...
No one is perfect! Isle of Skye Yachts is continually updating the web site and we may have missed a link. Also because the site is continually expanding it may be that the links have not yet been added and that the page is still under construction but contains enough useful information that we publish without delay. After all, the web allows us to instantly display the latest information instantly, all around the world...
To overcome this problem email us with details of the broken link and we will attempt to correct the problem immediately. email us- click here.

Some buttons dont work ...
This site uses JAVA script extensively for POP UP windows and some of the other buttons. If your browser has JAVASCRIPT turned off, the buttons simply wont work. The site has however been tested with all types of browser and WILL work if your local settings are correct.
To overcome this problem Turn ON Javascript or upgrade to a browser (Explorer and Navigator are both free) that can handle all the modern trickery of Javascript.

Flash
The ENTER button is programmed in flash. If you dont have FLASH installed you can get the plug-in from the site by clicking the ACCEPT button when the 'Would you like to install Flash 6 plug-in' dialogue box appears. Most users these days have flash installed. If you get 'fed up' waiting for the plug-in to update you can click the STOP button on your browser and you will most likely see the rest of the page anyway.

GENERAL INFO ...
Please note that the latest versions of : Internet Explorer & Netscape Navigator Web Browsers are all FREE now but older operating systems (Windows 3.1, 3.11 etc) may have trouble dealing with the newer software... Most surfers generally recommend using version 5 or onwards for IE and Navigator.
